Pizza is an all-time favorite of many people. Ordering pizza and waiting for its doorstep delivery is part of the excitement about enjoying a pizza with the family. However, many pizza lovers also explore unique methods to make pizza at home that saves costs and ensures better control over quality.
Here we will take a look at the ingredients and methods that will make pizza dough, crust, pizza sauce, and pizza toppings in cooking Pepperoni Pizza at home.
Pepperoni is something like the default pizza in the United States with all the right notes. It is spicy, meaty, slightly sour, and chewy too. In other markets, Margherita pizza is known to evoke similar customer frenzy.
There are three stages in pizza-making– pizza dough, pizza sauce, and pizza toppings. This preparation can offer six servings of Pepperoni Pizza.
We will start with Pizza sauce. For making 12 ounces of sauce we will need Contadina Tomato Paste as a major component. Adding to that will be dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, teaspoon salt, black pepper all in maximum half a teaspoon.
In making the pizza toppings, you can exhaust a packet of 6 ounces Hormel Pepperoni, one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, among others. Now, mix all sauce ingredients with half a cup of water in a medium bowl and keep it aside for allowing flavors to develop.
For making the pizza crust or the base, try to use 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 covers of Pizza Crust yeast which can be Fleischmann’s or Rapid Rise plus an average one tablespoon of sugar, salt, one cup warm water and a half cup of oil.
To make the crust, mix 2 cups of flour with the dry yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the water and oil and mix well for a minute or two. Add more flour slowly, until there is a soft, sticky dough ball.
Kneading the dough for 5 minutes is important so that the dough becomes elastic.
But that must be on a floured surface. Giving some resting time to the dough will improve the quality further. Before working on the pan, divide the dough into two sections. Pat each half with floured hands and prepare rolls that could fit a 12-inch greased pizza pan.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees c. Now place the tops on crusts with sauce, pepperoni, and cheese. Baking the dough for 20 minutes will turn crusts brown and cheese will be bubbly. Proper heat distribution may be tried by rotating pizza pans properly.
